Cherry and Pau Ferro is a really nice combination of materials, and I have used them together on a number of projects. As the majority of this drumshell is Cherry, the instrument has an even, full-range voice which is very smooth and versatile. The dynamic grain figure and bright tonality of the Pau Ferro center section provides a beautiful accent both visually and audibly, and further compliments the Pau Ferro hoops.

 

I added a couple of small pinstripes of White Oak to bracket the center band - while they are not particularly noticeable in these photos, as the Cherry matures, its color will deepen and the Oak will really start to pop.

 

As often happens, once the first of these drums was delivered, I received a number of other orders for similar drums, one of which is pictured in the bottom photos.
