The last Verawood drum I built was for a Heavy Hitting Rockstar who wanted matching Verawood hoops. Unfortunately, the combination of massive nightly rimshots and resinous timber conspired against me, and the batter hoop on that drum failed in the middle of a show in Amsterdam - not one of my finer moments.

After securing some specially formulated epoxy for tropical wood and subjecting it to a large amount of testing, I am extremely confident that this drumshell will NEVER come apart.

In consultation with our client, I designed an interesting Pau Amarello double stripe pattern with thin black pinstripes to tie the shell and hoops together. The high gloss lacquer, 24K hardware, and a hand carved throwoff handle are fitting on this full dress Cadillac I think. A bright, full projection and lots of sizzle to the cross-stick make this a personal favourite.
