KaaaBOOOOM.....
....goes the Big Bass Drum.
This is going to sound Huge I think. At 22 inches diameter by 20 deep and almost half an inch thick, this drum is going to project like a cannon, and all that Walnut is going to make it the warmest sounding piece of artillery ever. With over 200 individual blocks of wood making up the shell, it takes me a full 2 weeks to go from flat stock to a drumshell ready for lacquer with a piece this big.
Bottom left shows my sanding rig set up for the final couple of very fine grit passes, and on the right we have Chris, Jeff and Jerry trying to figure out how to stuff this big fella into the UV Cure oven.
The boys assure me that I’m not going to come into their shop and find this filled with recycling.
