I honestly wasn’t sure about the asymmetrical stripes which our client suggested for this drum, but once the shell was mocked up and I saw the effect with the long tube lugs I started to come around. After the high gloss UV cure lacquer went on and the color of the Cherry started to warm up I was hooked. Now I think this is one of the nicest designs we have done in the last few years.
Cherry is tonally very kind and is bright without being overpowering, resulting in an articulate instrument which doesn’t need a lot of tweaking to move between genres. This drum features Pau Ferro hoops which are very durable and provide a nice clean rimshot and cross stick sound. Our Stanbridge Drum 24K gold-plated tube lugs and hardware, Dunnett throwoff and Puresound 1416 wires complete the package.
